PWPW has been awarded the “Golden Innovation Laurel” for its TLE solution: an innovative security feature for identification documents.
TLE (Transparent Laser Engraving) is a first degree security feature designed by PWPW experts, which can be easily verified by touch and by sight. It is applied on the document’s surface with a laser in the form of protruding, transparent markings consisting of a series of digits and other characters. The markings may contain, for example, a time marker specifying the date of the document’s production. Application of this marker in the form of transparent markings does not reduce the document’s legibility in the course of its everyday use and it is an effective means of securing it against forgery.
The “Innovation Laurel 2013” competition for the best innovative product is organised by the Polish Federation of Engineering Associations NOT under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of the Environment. Its purpose is to promote innovative products, technologies and services, as well as other innovative solutions. The competition’s jury comprises, among other persons, the academic staff of the most renowned technical universities.
It was the first time PWPW participated in this competition.
