"The Great MicoWorld and Biometrics" PWPW S.A. at the Science Picnic of Polish Radio and Copernicus Science Centre

On Saturday the 12th of June 2010 took place the Science Picnic of Polish Radio and Copernicus Science Centre, where PWPW presented biometric data collection process.

 

Every visitor of our stand had the opportunity to familiarize with the procedure of individuals automated verification based on biometric features: fingerprint and iris images. Visitors who agreed to enter their data into Multimodal Biometric Database of PWPW, that had been created for research purpose, received a commemorative certificate. On the basis of received certificate one could verify in the NASK tent the compatibility of fingerprint and iris image with the data given earlier. The verification was confirmed by a special stamp.

As every year visitors of our stand could listen to PWPW experts who talked about the latest security features of Polish banknotes and documents.

Very popular were numerous competitions for children and adults, where one could win a briquette of waste banknote paper, promotional banknotes “90 years of PWPW S.A.” featuring the image of Paderewski, as well as logic games and puppets for children.

Despite the change of this year's venue, the picnic garnered much attention. Marshall Edward Rydz Śmigły Park perfectly fulfilled the function of scientific event's background. During the picnic we obtained biometric data from 200 people.
