 (15-07-2010)

Polish Security Printing Works S.A. acquired another contract for the production of nearly 3 million stamps for the Polish Post. The total number of stamps printed for the Polish Post in 2010 will amount to about 600 million units.

As a result of the tendering procedure PWPW S.A. obtained an order for print and delivery of 400 thousand units of the impressive  "600th Anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald" stamp with a reproduction of Jan Matejko’s painting. The stamp numbered in a block of 116x82 mm format was printed in rotogravure technology. The stamp was designed by Marzanna Dąbrowska.

This is not the first stamp produced by PWPW SA to celebrate the victory of Grunwald – explains Aldona Chojnowska, Product Manager of Excise and Stamps in PWPW – Such a stamp was also produced 50 years ago, at the 550th anniversary of the event.

In the next tender for stamps’ production PWPW S.A. won an order for five commemorative stamps with a total circulation of 2 150 000 units (printing technique: rotogravure), and stamps with a hangtag, for personalisation with a circulation of 300 000 units (printing technique: offset).
