The Hanausek Contest is over
 (17-12-2015)

Art forgeries, money laundering, similar handwriting of twins, or digital evidence of a crime are just some of the subjects of this year’s best criminology papers that have just been honoured with awards. The jury of the 16th Professor T. Hanausek’s Contest for the Criminology Paper of the Year has awarded the works of 9 scientists.

“For me this prestigious award is an additional incentive to continue my research and work on the development of Polish criminology, which, I hope, will contribute to a more effective prosecution of criminals and guaranteeing that innocent people will not be punished,” said Michał Kaczmarski, Ph.D. of the University of Warsaw whose paper on the subject of counteracting money laundering was recognised as one of the two best doctoral dissertations. The other doctoral dissertation to receive a prize this year was the paper by Dariusz Wilk, Ph.D. of the Jagiellonian University entitled “Art forgeries”.

The full list of winning papers can be found on the website of the Polish Forensic Association which organised the contest. Polish Security Printing works is the main sponsor of the prizes handed out to the scientists.
