PWPW - producer of a new NBP banknote with a face value of 500 zloty

On 6 June 2016, the National Bank of Poland presented a new 500 zloty denomination banknote, which is manufactured by the Polish Securities Printing Works.

The banknote features the image of King Jan III Sobieski, thus preserving the chronological continuity of the "Rulers of Poland" series. The image of the 500 zloty banknote was designed by Andrzej Heidrich, the author of the remaining Polish banknotes with face values of PLN 10, PLN 20, PLN 50, PLN 100 and PLN 200.

The banknote presentation was accompanied by speeches by NBP representatives: NBP President, who mentioned that the new denomination banknote will serve mainly to keep strategic currency reserved at the NBP, thus will be rarely seen in circulation and Barbara Jaroszek, deputy director of NBP's Department of Treasury who talked about the banknote’s security features.

Also the President of PWPW - Piotr Woyciechowski held a speech. The thanked employees of the Polish Securities Printing Works who were involved in the process of creating a new banknote. He expressed special acknowledgements to Andrzej Heidrich - designer of the image of King Jan III Sobieski, thanking for his special contribution and work for the State.

The new paper money with a face value of PLN 500 will be put into circulation in February 2017.
