The PWPW will start producing banknotes for the Central Bank of Guatemala later this year. Both denominations will be printed on a substrate with an admixture of synthetic fibres. - This will be the biggest order in our co-operation with the Guatemalan central bank to date - said Maciej Biernat, President of the Management Board of the PWPW. - We have been successively conquering the Latin American market for several years now, and Guatemala is already our regular partner. We are very happy about that, because export orders are an important source of diversification of the Company's revenues," he added.

The PWPW has been trading in Latin America since 2011. So far, the company has produced banknotes for Guatemala, Paraguay and Honduras, among others. It is currently processing several orders for countries in the region, including 55 million banknotes for the Dominican Republic and 170 million banknotes for Honduras. The company has also been producing passport components for Ecuador for several years and since this year also passports for Honduras.

As Maciej Biernat, President of the Management Board, pointed out, Latin America is an attractive but increasingly demanding market. - The PWPW has a wide range of technical capabilities and is very well prepared to meet the requirements of customers from this region. We make sure that our machinery is constantly adjusted to the latest trends in the security printing market. We regularly participate in international industry conferences during which we present our newest products. This year we took part in the prestigious HSP Latin America 2018 symposium in the Dominican Republic, where we presented biometric identity documents and collector's notes. The agreement with the Banco de Guatemala is further proof that the commercial activities carried out by the Polish Security Printing Works in Latin America are effective," said Maciej Biernat.
