In February 2010 PWPW S.A. and its partners were awarded the procurement to supply 6.6 million passports and 1.5 million visa stickers for Bangladesh.
The international tender to supply a complete system for issuing machine-readable passports and visa stickers for Bangladesh was announced in 2009 by the Department of Immigration and Passports of Bangladeshi Ministry of Home Affairs. The bidders included the leading global producers of security documents and IT solutions providers. In February the successful bidder was selected: the consortium of Malaysian IRIS Corporation Berhad, PWPW S.A. and a Bengali company Dataedge.
PWPW S.A. has been entrusted with the task to supply 6.6 million machine-readable passport booklets (MRP) and one and a half million machine-readable visa stickers (MRV) within three upcoming years.
- Production of documents, issuance systems and secured paper for export have been permanently inscribed in the strategy of PWPW S.A. We have already achieved in this field a few notable successes - says Andrzej Bogun, member of the comapny’s Management Board.
