Polish Security Printing Works (PWPW S.A.) is 95 years old. Today the company is one of the leaders on the securities market.
PWPW S.A. is a joint-stock company where the State Treasury holds 100 percent of the shares. From its beginning the company has ensured security for the country and its citizens. It produced all the Polish banknotes which are currently in circulation. Other products of PWPW S.A. include identity cards, biometric passport booklets, personalised driving licences, vehicle registration certificates and bank cards.
The company is one of the European Central Bank accredited manufacturers of euro banknotes and it belongs to the select group of companies authorised to manufacture polymer banknotes.
PWPW S.A. has its own research and development centre where specialists work on new technologies in security sector. One of them is the PCP technology, patented technology of polycarbonate colour personalisation. It is applied in the production of, among others, Polish driving licences which rank amongst the most secure documents in the world.

It is more and more frequent for the products of PWPW S.A. to come onto foreign markets. The citizens of Bangladesh, Lithuania and Armenia have passports manufactured by PWPW S.A. The company also manufactures electronic identity cards for the Armenians and banknotes for the citizens of Georgia and Paraguay. PWPW S.A. is also the system operator and manufacturer of digital driver cards for digital tachographs in Poland, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
