On the order of the Bank of Guatemala Polish Security Printing Works S.A. manufactured and delivered 30 million banknotes with a face value of 10 quetzals. The Polish company bid for the contract and beat world’s best producers.
For PWPW S.A. it was the first contract for the delivery of Guatemalan banknotes and the first delivery made to a South American country. On the front of the banknote there is a portrait of General Miguel García Granados, President of Guatemala in 1871-1873, applied to the surface with steel engraving technique, with red dominating. On the back side there is the National Assembly of 1872.
Banknote delivery for Guatemala is another of the overseas contracts for PWPW S.A. The citizens of Bangladesh, Lithuania and Armenia have passports manufactured by PWPW S.A. The company also manufactures electronic identity cards for the Armenians and banknotes for the citizens of Georgia and Paraguay. PWPW S.A. is also the system operator and manufacturer of digital driver cards for digital tachographs in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
