HERKULES CRANE PLACED NEW HARDWARE IN PWPW’S BUILDING | |
(20-09-2017) |
On 19 and 20 September 2017, complex engineering works were performed in Sanguszki street until late night hours whose purpose was to put new equipment in PWPW S.A.’s building, including but not limited to two energy-efficient, ultra-quiet power generator with the free cooling feature, each weighing 11 tons and power of 700 KW.
Due to the high risk associated with them (the power generators had to be lifted more than 80 m above ground), the works required perfect coordination, and therefore one of the largest cranes in Poland, called HERKULES, was used for this task. The deployment of such powerful equipment with the hoisting capacity of 500 metric tons caused significant road and pedestrian traffic difficulties in Sanguszki street. Bringing the crane required special permits allowing transportation thereof within the city. However, despite numerous difficulties the crane fulfilled its duty flawlessly.
The purchase of the power units is a part of PWPW’s expansion of its machine park, which is currently being systematically modernised with high-performance, economical, and modern peripherals.
Polska Wytwórnia Papierów Wartościowych S.A. would like to apologise for the traffic difficulties caused by the works.
