The aim of the Project was to provide equal opportunities to the disabled (deaf) who take national examinations for category B driving licence. The project will enable the deaf to lead their own life and move freely on the same conditions as able-bodied persons do, thus improving their situation on the labour market will improve.
The Project was aimed to develop a version of the category B driving test for the deaf, a phonic and graphic system for examiners to issue instructions to persons taking the examination anda database of examination questions in two versions for the deaf (PJM and SJM) to be implemented by the Voivodship Traffic Centres.
The Project, co-financed by the National Centre for Research and Development, was implemented as part of the SOCIAL INNOVATION Programme.
The leader of the consortium was the Disabled Drivers’ Association – SPINKA (Stowarzyszenie Pomocy Niepełnosprawnym Kierowcom). The Project was implemented by the Polish Security Printing Works S.A. (Polska Wytwórnia Papierów Wartościowych SA) together with the Automotive Industry Institute (Przemysłowy Instytut Motoryzacji), the J. Falkowski Institute for the Deaf and Mute (Instytut Głuchoniemych im. J. Falkowskiego) and the Voivodship Traffic Centres.
Project implementation period: April 2015 - March 2018.
